Maryport is a picturesque harbour town situated just outside the Lake District on the Solway Coast. The Lighthouse was built in 1846 and is constructed of an octagonal metal plinth, column & lantern on top of a stone base. Recorded as the Oldest Metal Lighthouse in the UK it has become Maryport landmark and has been depicted in many artist's works.
